The CMRC is composed of three major program areas:
integrates science and public policy in the
Harbor Bight through social science research, outreach, and collaborative
decision-making to improve existing information networks and assist in the
development of equitable coastal policies at the Federal, state, & local levels.
focuses on research and education to improve
the integration of social and ecological information within coastal communities,
and will work to facilitate an information exchange among coastal communities
worldwide to increase knowledge and understanding.
facilitates the acquisition and restoration
of coastal habitat in the Harbor Bight by engaging scientists, private
enterprises, non-profit organizations, and the general public in the
decision-making process, and by identifying financial and volunteer
resources available for coastal conservation.
