The Sustainable Coasts Program is a program of CMRC.
The Sustainable Coasts Program focuses on research and education that
improves the integration of social and ecological issues for coastal
communities. The Sustainable Coasts Program will also facilitate an
exchange of information between the Harbor Bight and other coastal
communities in an effort to increase the knowledge base of
sustainability issues relating to coastal resources at a global level.
With populations growing at a rapid rate for coastal communities in
the United States and internationally the demand for sustainable
social and ecological solutions is increasing. The Sustainable Coasts
Program of CMRC works with communities to better understand the issues
that drive their economic and environmental decisions.
The Sustainable Coasts Program’s vision is to enable coastal communities
of all socio-economic backgrounds to enjoy financial and ecological
stability by using their natural resources to act as a basis for
community development.
